Nantes, an Atlantic city
Founded 2,000 years ago just a stone’s throw from the Atlantic Ocean on the banks of the Loire, Nantes has preserved traces of its medieval Celtic history. In the XVIIIth century, Nantes was one of the French kingdom’s major trading ports with routes to the Americas and Africa. Western France’s main industrial centre during the XIXth century, Nantes and the Loire estuary has since become a powerful high-tech and service region.
And today...
Nantes, the fastest-growing major French city, attracts people not only because of its economic performance but also for its great quality of life and pleasant environment.
Slow-paced traffic, iodine and salt odours, lights dancing on the Loire, inviting cafés, tropical woods and spices, crazy inventions from the Cie Royal de Luxe, evenings at the Beaujoire...
the array of emotions is infinite in Nantes.
Come and share them with us...
See you soon... in Nantes !
Nantes is accessible by airplane (the Aéroport de Nantes Atlantique is 20 kms away) and by TGV train (2 hours from Paris, 2:50 from the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport)
