14-17 OCTOBER 2011
INTERNATIONAL CHOIR FESTIVAL NICE

Between the Rhine and the Vosges mountains, Alsace is peppered with picturesque villages full of smart, colourful houses, nestling in the foothills between vineyards and forests. The promontories of the Vosges, like Mount Saint Odile, High Königsbourg and the peaks called the "Ballons", dominate a harmonious region from the Ried in the north to the vineyards in the south.
Each of the Alsatian cities has a rich, diverse patrimony :
Strasbourg, whose old neighbourhoods around the cathedral find their place in the middle of the modern European metropolis, is also a very environmentally conscious city
Colmar, an historic city whose beautiful Unterlinden Museum complements its sumptuous mansions.
Mulhouse, in keeping with its industrial tradition, attracts visitors for its museums – the most renowned being the Schlumpf brothers' Automobile Museum.
Nature has endowed Alsace with many treasures to be discovered while travelling along the "Wine Road". These wines are the perfect accompaniment to delicious local dishes such as sauerkraut, game, "flammeküche", foie gras, and wonderful pastries, like "kugelhopf", etc.
